
When I think about the beginning of my love for technology, I think back to my family computer. It sat in the corner of our living room, humming quietly, filled with endless possibilities. Though it was big, boxy and slow by today’s standards, to me, it was magical. While my family treated it like just another appliance, I treated it as something sacred. I spent hours clicking around, exploring random programs, getting lost in games and wondering how it all worked.
At the time, I didn’t realize that those early moments were laying the groundwork for my future in tech PR. What started as curiosity evolved into a fascination with the ways technology connects us. I was drawn to how it influences the way we share stories, build communities, solve problems and reshape entire industries. I knew I wanted to be part of it, but I just didn’t know how yet.
Things started to click into place in high school. During my junior year, I interned at a local news organization where I helped write stories about the people and events in my community. That experience sparked my love for storytelling. I decided to pursue a degree in journalism, and from that point on, I immersed myself in every opportunity I could find. I wrote for my university’s student newspaper, managed social media accounts for campus organizations and interned with teams where I gained firsthand experience in developing and executing PR strategies.
Through those experiences, I discovered the power of PR. I saw how a well-crafted press release could turn into meaningful media coverage. I saw how a perfectly timed tweet could spark a conversation and build real engagement. I learned that public relations is not just about visibility. It is about connection, timing and intention. And from then on, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in it.
As I explored the industry further, I kept hearing about tech PR. I scheduled coffee chats, did informational interviews and started following the work of agencies that specialized in it. That’s how I came across The Hoffman Agency. What stood out to me was the Agency’s focus on storytelling, its culture and its global reach. It felt like the perfect place to blend my passion for technology with my love of storytelling.
Joining The Hoffman Agency feels like a full-circle moment. From starting out as a curious kid in front of the family computer to now beginning a journey in tech PR, I’m excited to be here and even more excited about what lies ahead.
