Wired for Curiosity: Finding My Spark in Tech Comms

Hoffman Internships

There is something electric about being in an environment where ideas are constantly in motion, where what you are writing about, strategizing around or pitching today could be shaping how people work, think or connect tomorrow. This is what drew me to The Hoffman Agency and the world of tech PR.

My first introduction to the agency came while working in Singapore last summer. It was fascinating to see how media communication shifted across cultures, and I saw how something seemingly intangible like tech could be brought to life through storytelling.

This was my “aha!” moment, where I realized I wanted to be a part of a world where communication challenges the very way we discuss innovation itself.

Working in a space like Hoffman, surrounded by people who thrive on curiosity and strategy, has been creatively energizing in a way I did not expect. It is almost like there is a rhythm to it: diving deep into unfamiliar industries, breaking down something complex into something clear and then finding the angle that makes it resonate. This process has been one of the most exciting parts of the experience so far.

What I’ve loved most is that even in a highly technical space, there’s still so much room for creativity through writing, researching, asking thoughtful questions and much more. And as someone who loves building meaning through words and movement (dance will always be my favorite after-hours reset), I’ve found that working in tech PR satisfies both sides of my brain: the strategic and the expressive.

Outside of work, I’ve been enjoying the challenge of building a new routine post-grad, one that is not dictated by class schedules or exams.

These days, that looks like solo-exploring Boston, getting somewhat lost on purpose and taking long walks while FaceTiming family and friends on rotation. My screen time is concerning, but the step count is thriving, so I consider it a balanced lifestyle.

There is something refreshing about rediscovering structure on your own terms, especially when it involves good views, 20,000 steps a day and the not-so-occasional sweet treat.

I know I have barely scratched the surface when it comes to tech, global storytelling or even agency life in general. But being in an environment where ideas move quickly and curiosity is encouraged, I feel both challenged and creatively fulfilled. I’m excited to keep learning, asking better questions and finding new ways to tell stories that are as electric as the space I am in.
