You are an experienced Finance Lead, who wants to partner for growth

We are looking to double in size in coming few years and consequently, now need an experienced Finance Lead, to go on a journey with us, and provide strategic commercial advice, as well as provide excellence in operational execution.

Whilst you will work closely alongside our senior leaders within Hoffman Europe and have some administrative support from a Finance and Operations Officer, this is largely a standalone Finance role, reporting into the European Managing Director and the Global CFO. We are therefore looking for someone with a lot of ambition, proactivity and adaptability.

The Plot Thickens: Job Description

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Maintaining and updating financial statements, including the Profit & Loss, to reflect the financial performance of the organization
  • Providing analysis and insights to the European MD and CFO to support decision making against our overall strategic goals
  • Reporting on employee utilization levels and flagging issues in good time to the European country leads and client leads
  • Monitoring and managing the organization's cash flow to ensure there is enough liquidity to meet financial obligations
  • Creative on-the-ground commercial problem-solving and looking for opportunities to create value for European teams and clients
  • Client and procurement commercial negotiations if required
  • Cost consolidation and control where possible
  • Line management of a financial and operations assistant (currently based in the UK), helping the individual to upskill and overseeing their delivery of day-to-day finance tasks, including:
    • Overseeing payroll for employees in UK, France and Germany, ensuring accurate and timely payment and compliance with local tax regulations.
    • Overseeing Invoicing and Purchase Order Queries, ensuring invoices are sent to clients, payments are tracked, and any queries are followed-up in a timely manner.
    • Overseeing the processing of expense reports submitted by employees, ensuring they are within the levels set within the policy
    • Tracking and managing employee timesheets, ensuring completion in a timely manner

The Hero’s Background: Qualifications

You will have a creative, logical, solution-orientated approach and will need excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

Having worked in a fast-paced public relations agency environment before, you will know that no two days are the same. So, it’s important that you have a high degree of flexibility.

  • Clearly demonstrable experience operating in a similar level role in an agency environment
  • Preferably qualified, or studying towards CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience working across multiple European geographies (ideally including France and Germany).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively under own initiative, whilst also partnering as part of a team
  • A solutions-focussed and “can do” attitude
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Packages such as Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as experience in accounting software such as Sage.
  • Experience of Workamajig would be beneficial
