Job Openings Account Manager/Senior Account Manager

San Jose, CA | Portland, OR | Boston, MA | Hybrid

Seeking sharp, tech-savvy account managers with a love for storytelling and a passion for technology

If you like being in the thick of things — leading client calls, brainstorming killer angles, translating tech speak into human speak and teaming up with sharp minds — keep reading.

The Hoffman Agency is a global public relations and integrated marketing communications consultancy that builds brand stories for some of the world’s most innovative tech companies. From AI and data infrastructure to cloud and cybersecurity, we bring smart storytelling to complex topics.

We’re looking for Account Managers and Senior Account Managers who are curious, collaborative and wired for growth. Bonus points if you know your way around cybersecurity and can casually drop “zero trust” into a sentence without sounding like a robot.

The Plot Thickens: Job Description

💼 Account leadership: Take the wheel on multiple tech accounts, with the freedom to get hands-on when needed. You’ll drive programs that consistently deliver results — and surprise and delight clients while you’re at it.

🤝 Client relations: Become a strategic partner to your clients. You’ll lead calls, offer clear counsel and set expectations that keep programs focused and productive.

📣 Media relations: Own the earned media strategy. Whether it’s cloud-native platforms, AI breakthroughs, or yes, cybersecurity threat reports — you’ll pitch stories that make headlines.

📝 Content creation: Work with clients and your team to turn complex ideas into clear, compelling content. From press releases to thought leadership, you’ll help tech brands find their voice.

📊 Measurement: Track success, optimize along the way and use data to prove the value of what we do.

🚀 New business: Help us scope and win exciting new clients — from endpoint protection pioneers to enterprise software and the latest AI-enabled offering.

Attributes of the Protagonist (That’s You)

  • Strategic thinker who loves a challenge
  • Creative and adaptable in fast-moving environments
  • Leader and collaborator rolled into one
  • Fluent in tech trends, with a genuine interest in how innovation shapes the world
  • Curiosity is your superpower — you’re always up for learning something new
  • Great with words, better with people
  • Loves solving problems and telling stories that stick
  • Can handle details without losing the plot
  • Bonus: A solid understanding of cybersecurity topics like threat intelligence, data protection or secure cloud infrastructure

The Hero’s Background: Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Business, Journalism or Liberal Arts
  • At least 4 years of public relations experience (ideally within an agency) with at least 1-2 years of demonstrated responsibility for managing multiple client accounts or workstreams.
  • Experience working with tech industry companies or organizations with a tech story.
  • Proven writing and communication skills
  • Experience as a people manager supporting team members with empathy and clarity
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Adept with Microsoft Office (extra points if you can also build a pitch deck in your sleep)
  • Flexibility, humor and a bias for action are musts

Why You'll Love It Here

We’re a team of curious thinkers, storytellers and strategists who help tech companies shape conversations and make meaningful impact. Whether we’re helping a startup launch a new product or working with an enterprise brand to lead an industry shift, we bring clarity, creativity and collaboration to everything we do.

Flexible Workplace and Benefits

We’ve established a hybrid workplace with maximum flexibility.

And our benefits are pretty darn good as you can see from the sample list of benefits below:

  • 20 PTO days
  • 11 holidays, including MLK day
  • 401(k) match
  • Knock-off early on Fridays
  • Sabbatical program – one month off after 4 years of service
  • Professional Development/Wellness fund - $1,000 per year

We are a company that values diversity and inclusion.

If you like the sound of that, we’d love to hear your story.

Come join us in pushing — and periodically shoving — the boundaries of communications.
