We are seeking a junior copy editor with a passion for words, storytelling, learning and a commitment to excellence. Must have a sense of humor and appetite for working in a positive team environment.

The Plot Thickens: Job Description

  • Editing: You’ll be working with account teams at Hoffman to edit a plethora of different writing formats, including web copy, bylined articles, social content, news releases, e-books, digital ads, blog posts, infographics, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters and more. Editing will include checking all copy for grammar, spelling, usage, consistency, tone, repetition and style.
  • Agency Work: In addition to copyediting client work, you will be helping our executive team polish pitch decks for new business presentations, copyedit content for the Hoffman website and social media channels, etc.
  • Content creation: There may be times when account teams need an extra hand with a writing project. If you have the background and interest in picking up the proverbial pen and writing, opportunities will present themselves.

The Hero’s Background: Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, PR/Advertising or another Liberal Arts field
  • 2-4 years of copyediting experience
  • Adept with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Superior writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Acuity around technical subjects
  • Experience in the media world and/or with SEO
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to track deadlines necessary
