The Hoffman Agency Singapore Office Receives Mumbrella Award for Culture
In a cut-throat environment well-known for long hours and over-caffeinated practitioners, it is a challenge to maintain a positive culture for team members. Those in the PR industry find it a constant struggle, and some even take for granted everyday employee engagement and internal communications.
Four years ago, we experienced a similar issue which seriously affected the office’s morale and productivity. We knew something had to change. In 2015, we began focusing on building strong staff morale and cultivating a stalwart office culture of work and play. We were and still are on a mission to make communications less scary — and a lot more personal.
2016 was a milestone year — we celebrated 20 years in Asia Pacific. Every office in the region took part in ensuring the success of the celebrations. We kicked off with the launch of our dedicated blog, Chicken Rice for the Soul, to capture the stories of Hoffmanites past and present. From folks who formed the very first team in Singapore, to past employees, interns and even clients — they helped document this incredible journey that we’ve been on to create The Hoffman APAC Story.
Our celebrations did not end there. Our CEO, Lou Hoffman, made it a point to celebrate with us in person. He went on a mini Asia tour to touch base with some of the offices, which culminated in a 20th HAnniversary Get Together in Singapore. The activities were well-documented through #HAAP20 and #InsideHA (our longstanding official Agency hashtag) over several social media platforms. We were able to share the festivities with our teams virtually in the U.S. and Europe.
We have a deeply romantic relationship with PR, and we’re not afraid to shout it from the rooftops. Fuelled by passion, inadvertently, we have all benefited internally and externally. We have boosted the agency’s profile as an innovative and creative organisation and improved our business success rate. Existing clients have enjoyed the renewed dynamism in delivering work that far surpassed expectations. Our clients and prospects have embraced us, and our colleagues remain inspired.
Through these efforts we’ve effectively positioned ourselves as THE PR agency of choice. There’s a lot of spin out there, but we put forth our honest selves with a splash of wit, and leave the people to decide. We’re proud to say that we’ve earned the name as a “company for people.” We wouldn’t have enjoyed a phenomenal and meaningful year without those supporting us, and the ones we support. And that’s what matters to us the most.
